Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 5, 2026

We want everyone to be able to read this blog, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive tools. This page explains what we do and how to tell us when something does not work.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We have not had a formal third-party audit, so we describe our goal, not a certificate.

What we do

  • Alternative text. Images that carry meaning have a text description. Purely decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
  • Structure. Each page has one main heading and headings in a logical order, plus landmarks such as navigation and main content.
  • Keyboard use. All menus, links, buttons and forms can be used with a keyboard. A “Skip to content” link appears first, and the focus outline is clearly visible.
  • Colour and contrast. We choose text and background colours with strong contrast and never rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
  • Readable text. Pages work at different text sizes and can be zoomed. The layout adapts to phones, tablets and desktops.
  • Forms. Form fields have visible labels, and errors are explained in plain language.
  • Motion. Animations are minimal, and we respect the “reduce motion” setting in your device.
  • Advertising. Ads are clearly labelled and kept away from navigation and buttons, so that they are not triggered by accident.

Known limitations

Content from third parties, such as advertisements, consent messages and embedded or linked sites, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard. Older articles may contain images without detailed descriptions; we fix these as we find them.

Tell us about a problem

If you find something hard to use, please contact us or email info@swfowler.com. Include the page address, what you were trying to do and the assistive tool you use if you are comfortable sharing it. We aim to reply within 5 working days and will offer the information in another format where we can.
